Environmental preservation and protection are part of the company routine. Our plant in São José is strategically located within a 13-hectare site of native Atlantic Forest, protected by environmental laws.
See the main projects that strive for environmental preservation:

 |
Water Treatment Station (ETA)
The water used in the slaughtering plant at the São José unit is treated using the highest criteria, providing great security in water quality.
|
 |
Effluent Treatment Station (ETE)
There is exclusive treatment of industrial residue at the slaughtering plant. Fat is removed from the water and decomposed in chemical processes. São José unit has three decantation ponds for treating its residues, helping to guarantee that the water can be reused and contributing to the natural cycle of nature. This residue treatment procedure was recognized by environmental protection agencies, the Friz Müller Environmental Preservation award.

Recycling
In addition to recycling much of its solid waste, we encourage consumers to play their part. All packages are totally recyclable. It is up to the consumer, to separate and recycle the garbage at home.

Grow-out farms construction
Environmental planning is conducted for the construction of each grow-out farm. All installations are at least 30 meters from streams and rivers, no trees are cut down and only wood.
